About

I am Rob Jacobs, a painter based in Weert, the Netherlands. I have been painting for around fifteen years, in my own studio in Weert. I trained at the art academy in Neerpelt, Belgium, where I studied advanced painting. People are my greatest source of inspiration: faces, expressions and the different characters you can read in them. I work intuitively and usually start without a fixed plan. With acrylic paint, charcoal, marker and oil pastel I build up my paintings layer by layer, in colour and in black and white. The result is abstract and sometimes confronting, but always rooted in raw emotion. My work is held in private collections in the Netherlands and abroad. Would you like to see a painting in person or visit the studio? Please get in touch.
